Denver Water announces new finance director

July 30, 2010 - Angela BricmontAngela Bricmont is Denver Water’s new director of finance.

Bricmont (then Angela Montoya) was a senior analyst at Denver Water from 1993 to 1995, and most recently was the manager of financial services for Carollo Engineers, the largest U.S. firm devoted to water and wastewater treatment. At Carollo, she assisted utilities across the U.S. with long-range financial planning and asset management.

“We’re happy to welcome Angela back to Denver Water,” said Jim Lochhead, CEO/manager. “She brings high energy and a wealth of perspective from other utilities based on her consulting experience.”

She has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business. Bricmont is a seventh-generation Coloradan from the San Luis Valley who has lived in the Denver area since graduating from Trinidad High School.

Her career began at Ernst & Young in the utility consulting practice. She also was vice president of rates and regulatory matters for TCI and AT&T Broadband, and served as director of budget and operations at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies.

Bricmont currently is the vice chair of the American Water Works Association’s Finance, Accounting, Management and Controls Committee, and she also serves on AWWA’s Rocky Mountain Utility Management Committee. She was nominated and selected for the Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry’s “50 for Colorado” Leadership Program, and completed a yearlong leadership training program with the Center for Creative Leadership.

Bricmont has volunteered as a bilingual tutor at Greenlee Elementary School and was involved with the Latin American Educational Foundation. She sang for several years with the Colorado Symphony Chorus and was a volunteer director at Su Teatro.

Bricmont and her husband, Denver attorney Robert Bricmont, have two sons in grade school.
