Beginning in 2009, Denver Water began sending bills monthly instead of every other month in an effort to better serve our customers.
Receiving water bills monthly helps customers better manage their finances and water use. Your water rates didn’t change with the new bills, but your monthly bill amount may be smaller. The service charge was slightly increased to accommodate the change to monthly billing. Customers now pay an additional $0.78 per bill for the adjusted service charge. As with bimonthly billing, the more you use, the more you pay.
Denver Water also redesigned its bill to provide more information in an easy-to-read format.
The Benefits of Monthly Billing
- Better alignment with other bill schedules.
- A more timely account of your water use, allowing you to make adjustments as needed to avoid higher water bills, especially during the summer.
- The ability to discover service line, plumbing or irrigation system leaks sooner, allowing for prompt repairs and reducing the magnitude of a high bill caused by leaks.
