Denver Water proudly serves high-quality water and promotes its efficient use to 1.3 million people in the city of Denver and many surrounding suburbs. Established in 1918, the utility is a public agency funded by water rates and new tap fee, not taxes. It is Colorado’s oldest and largest water utility.

The Customer Service Field Section of Denver Water’s Customer Relations Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Customer Service Field Supervisor I. The successful candidate, under supervision, will supervise customer service field activities in the areas of delinquent accounts and meter service, meter reading, general customer inquiries, investigations, water audits, location and inspection of service lines, and special account requests. The successful candidate will also have the following duties:

  • Prepares schedules for field activities, including meter settings, service schedules and other daily work assignments; coordinates vehicular usage.
  • Maintains files on daily work completed and a variety of other records, including delinquent accounts, meter reading and account investigations; reviews completed work, and coordinates its distribution. Researches account history and field reports, compiling data and generating letters to the public accordingly.
  • Trains personnel to conduct special investigations on request of Customer Care or Water Sales Sections. Reports findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinates the removal, resetting, and field repair of meters and Automatic Meter Reading devices as needed. May coordinate work provided by other Denver Water departments.
  • Assists in the training and development of subordinates; provides field assistance as required.

Qualifications for this position:

Education

Graduation from high school, or GED.

Experience

Five years experience involving meter reading, meter service and/or meter inspection, with considerable emphasis on the public contract.

License, Certificate or Credential

Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
