Facility Operator Supervisor
Hiring Salary Range: $26.75 hourly- $31.51 hourly Mid-Point
Full Time, 40 Hours, Regular position

Denver Water’s Operations and Maintenance Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as a Facility Operator Supervisor who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of raw water storage facilities and associated properties. Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of raw water.
This position has formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect Dam and Valve House for operations, safety and security.
Obtain water flow readings and make flow adjustments as directed.
Record a variety of information including: reservoir elevations, stream flow readings, and weather data.
Inspect tunnels, conduits, and pump stations weekly.
Maintain patrol of departmental property to prevent vandalism, trespassing and fires. Cooperate with various local public and private agencies.
Maintain liaison with visitors to department facilities and work with local agencies concerning recreational opportunities at these facilities.
Maintain and repair dams, canals, ditches, roads, and other structures.
Operate valves to regulate flows, check emergency valves, and maintain all outlet piping, valves, and valve chambers.
Supervise the operation and maintenance of trucks, pumps, generators and assigned power equipment.
Ensure safe working conditions and practices through inspection, and provide safety training.
Perform related work as required.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma of GED. (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Minimum 3 years of related work experience. 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Licenses, Registration and Certifications:
Complete Aquatic Nuisance Species training within 12 months of hire.
Hydro Electric Power Plant Operator training within 12 months of hire.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado Driver's License, and have a satisfactory driving record on the date of appointment.
Required to possess a Class ‘B’ or Class ‘A’ Colorado Commercial Driver’s License as directed within six months of appointment.
Must certify on construction, and/or heavy automotive equipment as directed.
