Denver Water’s Operations and Maintenance division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Automation Technician in the Water Treatment Section. Under general supervision, develops, writes, tests, installs, and maintains programs and instructions for process control equipment and its operation.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications for appointment.
- Considerable knowledge of electronic theory, data communication, industrial Ethernet, SCADA systems, computer systems, computer operations and programming, and software maintenance.
- Familiar with Bristol Babcock ACCOL and /or IEC61-131-3 structure Text and Function Block or similar PLC programming software.
Qualifications for this position
Education: Graduation from high school, supplemented with two years related college or university course work.
Experience: Six years’ experience in the design, analysis, testing, installation, and implementation of process control systems involving the calibration, electronic analysis, field wiring and related programming, using scientific and numerical control applications.
License, Certification or Credential: Must possess and maintain a valid class R Colorado driver’s license, and have a satisfactory driving record on the date of appointment. Requires certification as a ‘Certified Controls System Technician’ (CCST) by ISA, or equivalent. Level I is required upon date of appointment and Level II must be achieved within 18 months of appointment.
