IT Sr. Application Developer — Maximo

Hiring Range: $6,154 to $9,666 per month

The Tier III New Business Solutions section of Denver Water’s IT Division is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of IT Senior Application Developer. The ideal candidate must possess advanced technical and functional knowledge of IBM’s Maximo Software v6.x or v7.x, excellent problem solving skills, and water utility experience. 

The successful candidate will also have the following qualifications for appointment:

  • Demonstrate extensive experience using Maximo’s Application Designer.
  • Extensive experience developing in TRM’s RulesManager™.
  • Experience using Maximo’s Integration Gateway, Enterprise Adapter, or, preferably, Integration Framework.
  • Experience using Maximo on a Windows platform.
  • Basic understanding of Unix Solaris operating system is desirable.
  • Understanding of Web application server setup, configuration and performance tuning specifically utilizing BEA Weblogic although Websphere experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with integrating MAXIMO with external applications and databases (e.g., ESRI, JDE, Peoplesoft, Kronos) through middleware integrations such as Tibco are highly desirable.
  • Experience with report writing (Cognos or BIRT).
  • Ability to navigate through existing data structures in Oracle using intermediate to advanced SQL including writing and deciphering complex SQL queries.
  • Functional knowledge of work management, preventive maintenance, purchasing, compatible units estimating, and inventory management.
  • Work closely with user representatives and subject matter experts to design and implement technical solutions with associated Maximo functionality.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate experience in analyzing, planning and implementing complex Maximo and RulesManager™ upgrades.

To qualify for this position candidates must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science or related field.  They must also have 10 years experience installing, developing, implementing and supporting Maximo. Candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management.  This may include clear formal and informal communication through speaking and writing.
