Before & After      Front Yard & Back Yard

Before & After

This narrow strip slants toward the fence, so run-off tended to collect there, leaving the rest of the grass brown and wilted.

Flagstone and plants like Thyme and Iris thrive in a low-water environment.

Plants with higher water requirements have been placed near the fence, to take advantage of therun-off from the neighbor's irrigation system.

Colorful and water-thrifty perennials like Primrose, Salvia, Penstemon, Thyme and Snow-in-Summer have eliminated mowing and drastically reducedwatering.

Pine-leaf Penstemon, Soapweed and Lavender Cotton mix with cobblestone for a dry-land Xeriscape.

Blue Flax, Scarlet Bugler Penstemon and Austrian Copper Roses combine to form a stunning corner garden.

This yard mixes perennials like Japanese Blood Grass, Sage and Thyme with annuals like Cosmos and Bachelor's Buttons. The flagstone path leads to a lovely private deck.
