Boating Regulations

May 21, 2008: Zebra mussel update

Boating is not permitted during posted emergency closures.

All boats are subject to U.S. Coast Guard and Colorado Parks Safety Standards and will be subject to safety inspection.

– Allowed –

Canoes	Kayaks	Row Boats

Non-motorized car top boats are allowed.

• Car top boats are those that can be lifted onto and taken from the top of a passenger vehicle.
• Car top boats are for recreation only.
• Car top boats are no more than 18 feet in length (24-foot, sea-touring, 2-person kayaks are also allowed).
• Car top boats are single-hulled, hand-propelled, and open construction.
• Inflatable car top boats must be multi-chambered.

– Not Allowed –

No Boat Launching	No Sail Boats	No Belly Boats	No Motor Boats	No Wind Surfing

Boats or Water Craft that are not Allowed

Motorized boats (either gas or electric motors)
Commercial boats
Trailer mounted boats
Sailboats, including:
	Wind surf boards	Ice boards
Single-chambered floatation devices, including:
	Belly boats (of any type)	Inner tubes
	Inflatable rafts	Air mattresses
