Traffic Advisory — East Yale Avenue closure at South Colorado Boulevard starts March 16

DENVER — March 13, 2026 — Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, March 16, Denver Water crews will begin the next phase of construction on critical underground water infrastructure at East Yale Avenue, just west of South Colorado Boulevard.

This work will require a full closure of East Yale Avenue between South Harrison Street and South Colorado Boulevard, for approximately one month.

There will also be lane closures in both directions on South Colorado Boulevard at East Yale Avenue for the duration of this work, and traffic delays should be expected.

Signed detour routes will be in place, directing traffic to the nearest open intersections to avoid the closure.

Local access to the University Hills YMCA will remain open, but through traffic should use other routes to avoid delays.

The construction schedule may shift due to weather, material delays, emergency work or other unforeseen circumstances.
