Cutting down on problematic pipes

Did you know that Denver Water operates and maintains more than 3,000 miles of distribution pipe – enough to stretch from Los Angeles to New York – with some of these pipes dating back to the 1890s?

That’s why Denver Water has always taken a proactive approach to maintaining infrastructure.

Crews are embarking on the second year of replacing about 60,000 feet of pipe through a targeted 12-mile zone in west Centennial where 18 water main breaks occurred over a two-year span.
