Gross Dam Road roadway improvements

by Melissa Brasfield | May 5, 2023 | News

Beginning the week of May 1 and continuing through the spring and summer, Denver Water’s contractor, Kiewit-Barnard, will begin ramping up activities related to the roadway safety improvements on Gross Dam Road. Activities will include tree removal, excavation, grading and restoration activities along multiple sections of the roadway. These roadway improvements are a long-term investment in the area and will improve safety for residents and visitors throughout this project and into the future.
The contractor will be working in sections along Gross Dam Road and, depending on the type of work being performed, intermittent lane closures will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and workers. We understand these road restrictions will be disruptive to those who live and travel on Gross Dam Road and will do our best to minimize impacts. Traffic control will be in place during all lane closures to maintain traffic flow through the area. To ensure the safety of the public and workers, motorists should follow all on-site personnel instructions.

As with all roadway impacts, we will ensure access for all emergency vehicles and continue to coordinate with local public safety personnel. This work is weather-dependent, and timeframes are subject to change. We will provide periodic updates as needed via email and continue to provide project updates via the project My Map.
