Now you see us, now you don’t

With safety and efficiency, Denver Water crews are replacing more pipe in fewer days on the street.

In just three years, Denver Water crews have installed 40 percent more pipes in less than half the time.

How? By making the best use of our time and equipment to minimize our customers' inconvenience.

“It’s everybody working together to make the process better,” said Robbie DeHerrera, water distribution supervisor.

Whether we’re employing a mobile cart to make more tools readily accessible or improving communication with our water quality lab to expedite water samples, we aim to complete each of our pipe replacement jobs as quickly and safely as possible. Take a look:

Thanks to these tools, we went from installing less than a half-mile per day in 2014 to 1.39 miles per day last year. And the time it takes to install 500 feet of pipe — about the length of a block — went from 20.8 days in 2014 to 8.1 days in 2016.
