- Customer must receive a water bill from Denver Water or a qualifying Master Meter distributor.
- Applications must be submitted within 90 days of the purchase date. No exceptions.
- Applications must be accompanied by a copy of a valid sales receipt. A valid receipt shows:
- date purchased
- product model or item number
- price for each item
- proof that the item is paid-in-full
- Rebate amount will not exceed customer’s purchase price (with tax).
- Denver Water will determine if the rebate can be applied as a credit on the water bill or if a check needs to be issued.
- Only new fixtures or appliances qualify. Equipment that is used, leased, refurbished, rented, received from warranty or insurance claims, exchanged or won as a prize do not qualify for this rebate.
- Rebate amounts expected to be greater than $2,500 must receive pre-authorization from Denver Water to be eligible.
- Customers applying for a rebate must agree to allow Denver Water employees to access their properties in order to verify installation of devices eligible for rebates.
- Should you be contacted for inspection, and the fixture/device is not installed at that time, the rebate will be denied.

- Rebate subject to available funds or discontinuation at any time.

To encourage technological innovation and physical demand-side efficiency improvements for commercial customers, Denver Water is rolling out a pilot custom rebate program for commercial customers. Eligible projects must provide Denver Water with reasonable assurance that the reductions will be sustainable for the anticipated life of the project.
Denver Water has total and final authority in determining the potential water savings for each type of technology and the costs of that technology that are eligible for rebate.
Rules
- Beginning Jan. 1 each year, Denver Water will offer customized commercial rebates on a first come, first served basis until the available budget runs out or until Nov. 30 of that same year.
- The total rebate payment may not exceed up to 50% of material costs with $10,000 cap for each controlling entity per year.
- Denver Water will make the final determination of eligibility of each proposed project.
All projects must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must yield a sustained reduction of water use.
- Must be new equipment only.
- Must meet or exceed State of Colorado or Energy Star water efficiency standards, or current code. Standards in place at the time of the screening request will be used to calculate water savings.
Qualifying equipment examples:
- Commercial kitchen equipment, such as warewashing equipment, water-saving ice machines and other water-efficient devices.
- Coin- or card-operated laundry equipment.
- Submeters.
- Cooling tower efficiency upgrades.
- Process water efficiencies.
- Any other equipment that results in measurable water savings, including customized equipment.
Non-qualifying equipment examples:
- Items that would violate our operating rules, such as leak or flow detection devices that attach to the meter.
To get started, fill out the preapproval form, see below. Once submitted, Denver Water staff will reach out regarding the next steps.

- Within the “number of units” field, you can either identify the total number of units within the building or provide the total number of addresses tied to the account.
- If you have one receipt associated with multiple rebate applications, please upload that same receipt to each application.
